JULIE CHRISTIE IN PETULIA: 60'S INSPIRATION

Me fascinan las películas de los 60s. Luego de que en Francia estallara la Nouvelle Vague en el 57, el resto de los países de Europa también se fueron sumando a ésta época de cambios y creatividad. El cine y la moda se llenaban con aires de irreverencia y rebeldía y así fue como Inglaterra fue creando su Swinging London que hicieron de esa ciudad la capital mundial cultural a fines de los años 60. La sicodelia y el estilo Mod se impusieron por todo el mundo llegando, por supuesto también, a los Estados Unidos. "Petulia", aunque filmada en San Francisco, tiene una directa relación con el Londres de la época; lo ambiguo de la historia, los colores, la moda... Para que hablar de los "outfits" de Julie Christie. Ya me quisiera yo ese abriguito amarillo, los sombreros y esos vestidos cortísimos. Les dejo algunas fotos para que se inspiren!

I just love 60's movies. After the french Nouvelle Vague exploded, the rest of the european countries also joined this time of changes and creativity. Movies and fashion were filling up with irreverence and rebellion and that's how England created its Swinging London, making the city the cultural capital of the world at the late 60's. Sycodelia and Mod style imposed themselves all over the world and, of course, in U.S.A too. Even though "Petulia" was shooted in San Francisco, it has a direct relation with London, the ambiguos story, the colors, the fashion... Why bother talking about Julie Christie's outfits, they were just perfect. I dream about that yellow coat, the hats, and those short short dresses. I leave you some pictures for inspiration!
